Our team

Director, Chartered Accountant

Darren graduated from the University of Bradford with a degree in Business Studies. He joined global accountancy firm KPMG in 1990, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with them. He became a Senior Manager with KPMG in 1998. During his career at KPMG, Darren was responsible for managing a portfolio of audit and accountancy clients, ranging in size from small owner managed businesses to large PLCs. Between 1999 and 2002, Darren headed a specialist financial modelling team for KPMG s Northern Practice a team which he had developed to undertake financial modelling services for corporate finance and transaction support projects.

In 2002, he left KPMG to establish Atraxa. In the last 15 years, Darren has been responsible for a portfolio of clients in the SME sector. He has sat on the boards of a number of AIM listed companies as Finance Director during his career.

Matt Walker BSc FCA
Director, Chartered Accountant

Matt graduated from the University of Warwick with a degree in economics. He joined KPMG in 1996 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1999, becoming a Manager in 2001. During his time at KPMG, Matt was involved in the audits of a wide range of clients from small owner managed businesses to PLCs. He spent time with the transaction services department working on a number of due diligence projects and a large public to private transaction.

From 2000, Matt worked with Darren to develop a financial modelling team, working on a variety of financial modelling projects. He left KPMG in 2002 and is now a director and co-owner of Atraxa.

Natalie Hamblett
Business Finance Administrator

Natalie heads up our Business Finance Administration service. She provides bookkeeping and financial administration support to our clients. Natalie has several years experience of dealing with the day to day finance needs of small and medium sized companies, having previously worked in the Business Support Team for IP Group plc.

We operate as a private limited company with the name Atraxa Consulting Limited. Our registered number is 05574060 (Registered in England and Wales). Atraxa is a trading name of Atraxa Consulting Limited. We are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

We maintain professional liability insurance. Our insurer is Hiscox of 1 Great St Helen s, London, EC3A 6HX. The territorial coverage of our insurance is Worldwide (excluding the USA and Canada).
